David is a polymath * who lectures and runs workshops in music, computer science, management, theology and mental health, manages I.T. infrastructure and leads music and worship production.

David’s research on the piano music in Sabah remains the only authority on the subject decades after its publication: “Music of the Chinese in Sabah: the keyboard culture” (2009).
Navigating life’s opportunities and obstructions opens fresh ways of understanding relationships. David explains the struggles of mental health in employment to help others cope: “Games of masquerade and walls of doubt: People, systems and mental health at a London university” (2025). David also recounts God’s grace in having a clear mind in his book “Grace in depression” (2025).
